Melissa McDonald

After fatefully stumbling upon the field of Speech Pathology as a college student, Melissa has been hooked ever since. She loves to share the value and power of communication with her clients ranging from improving the articulation of speech sounds to advancing vocabulary and grammar to the use of assistive and augmentative communication systems and devices to aid in daily functioning. She specializes in speech/language support from the ages of birth to early adulthood. She also maintains certification as an Assistive Technology Specialist.

After experiencing breastfeeding challenges with her first two children, Melissa expanded her practice to include lactation support. Through her own experiences and those of friends and loved ones, she recognized the vital need for mamas to receive support during this amazing but exhausting and often difficult time. She offers warm support to mothers who are preparing to breastfeed, have nursing newborns, or practice “extended” nursing well into toddlerhood.

 

Additionally, as a Certified Health Coach, Melissa values the importance of fueling human bodies for success. She supports families in making the connection between healthy/healing foods and overall growth, progress, and happiness.

 

Personally, Melissa is married to a great man with whom she shares three sons. She recognizes the absolute blessing it has been to witness and experience her specialties in real time as her boys have taught her even more about lactation, language, and feeding than can be learned in classes or coursework.

 

Melissa also loves spending time with friends and family, reading, exercising, listening to music, attending church, and living a clean and healthy lifestyle.
